I am a visual artist living in rural Oxfordshire, with a small dining room-cum-home studio and an even smaller printing press. The move to the Cotswolds came after completing 5 years formal fine art training - specialising in illustration and printmaking, graduating from Suffolk College School of Art.
Being born and raised near the Suffolk coast, I continue to be immersed in a rural and natural environment. As opposed to mark making directly onto paper or canvas, relief prints are created by carving into the block (creating a negative), this effectively enables drawing with light. It is this, that ultimately influences my work whilst allowing me to continue experimenting with the different styles, textures and effects that can be obtained and explored through Linocutting - a process that gives me the flexibility and freedom to create expressive and exciting artworks, it is this process that I find utterly thrilling and intensely absorbing.
